The Consulting Team

  • Alushe Hitula is a highly accomplished Strategist and Development Specialist with a remarkable 22-year career spanning the Private, Public, and Development sectors. With extensive experience at renowned international and continental organizations, including the FAO, World Bank, NEPAD Agency, and the African Union Commission, Alushe has been a driving force in shaping continental policies.

    Currently leading strategic private sector endeavors, she is instrumental in establishing a groundbreaking Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage facility at the Port of Walvis Bay, positioning Namibia as a key hub for clean energy distribution in the SADC Region. Her success extends to securing climate and development finance for the Environmental Investment Fund and the Rössing Foundation through the Global Climate Fund.

    Alushe, holding a Master of Business Management Degree from the University of Pretoria, founded the Social Analytics and Auditing Company in 2022, dedicated to advancing social policy reform and sustainability. Her influential roles, including Continental Programme Coordinator and engagements with major development partners, underscore her wealth of experience and make her an invaluable asset to any team.

  • Khiuri Zucula is a strategic development and alternative financing specialist at Business Financial Solutions (BFS). His focus lies in empowering start-ups and fostering sustainable development through innovative financial solutions. As a co-founder of the Mozambican Association of Business Angels, Khiuri has actively contributed to enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

    With hands-on experience in structuring investments, financial modelling, and due diligence, Khiuri brings a strong background in fostering private sector development. His dedication to sustainable development drives his work, and he is passionate about creating impactful projects and supporting companies that benefit various stakeholders.

    Khiuri’s academic background includes an Executive MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and he has worked on initiatives aimed at boosting digital transformation and green businesses. His experience includes consultancy for various organizations, and he is ever-present in the entrepreneurial ecosystem as a mentor, panelist, and consultant.

  • Andrew Sekandi is a London-based consultant and Namibian-trained lawyer with over 15 years of experience in advising global institutional investors, multinationals, and Family Offices on risk management, due diligence, and market entry strategies across Africa. Currently, he serves as the Management Executive at METALNRG PLC, a mining investment company listed on the London Stock Exchange. Before this, he co-founded African Metals Group, a mining investment and advisory firm with a focus on Africa.

    In 2018, Andrew founded ALPHA SIERRA ADVISORY, a consulting firm specializing in Emerging & Frontier markets, particularly Africa. With a background that combines legal expertise and entrepreneurial acumen, Andrew has made a significant impact in the world of risk management and consulting, especially in the African market. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Cape Town, and he completed an executive short course in Finance, Contracts, and Risk Mitigation for Private Power Investment in Africa.

  • Tânia Saranga boasts over 15 years of invaluable experience in Mozambique's Financial Sector Development. With her rich expertise in project management and advisory services to financial institutions, she has been at the forefront of driving financial inclusion, emphasizing access to finance, gender finance, mobile banking, financial literacy, and agent banking. Her remarkable ability to collaborate with government bodies, NGOs, rural communities, private enterprises, and international donors such as KfW, GIZ, and the World Bank has made her an influential figure in the sector. Tânia's strengths encompass adaptability, effective communication, adept teamwork, independent work, and impeccable time management. Her proficiency extends to both Portuguese and English.

    Tânia's impressive qualifications include a Master of Science in Development Economics and Policy from The University of Manchester, United Kingdom (2007), a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Economics from the same institution (2006), and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, Politics, and Philosophy from the University of Cape Town, South Africa (2005).

    Throughout her career, Tânia has held several pivotal roles, including her stint as Country Director for the Savings Bank Foundation for International Cooperation, where she spearheaded financial education and institutional strengthening for the microfinance sector in Mozambique. Her work at Technoserve Mozambique as a Market Systems Manager involved identifying potential businesses, devising growth solutions, and developing strategic partnerships. Notably, she served as a Financial Sector Analyst at the World Bank, contributing to policy and operational dialogue in multiple African countries.

    Tânia's profound contributions extend to publications, including her work on "Facilitating Cross-Border Mobile Banking in Southern Africa," which was featured in the Africa Trade Policy Notes published by the World Bank in 2010. Her expertise and dedication continue to be instrumental in advancing financial inclusion in Mozambique and beyond.

  • Dr. Manfred Rii Zamuee, an accomplished expert in pensions, social security, and financial matters, hails from Namibia. He possesses a rich academic background with a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of South Africa, specializing in the comparative analysis of Namibian Occupational Pension and Social Security Safety Nets within the SADC region. His academic journey also includes an LLM degree from the University of Wolverhampton and a Doctor of Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management, where he conducted extensive research on the efficiency of pension funds in Namibia.

    As the Founding Partner of Global Advisory Alliance (Pty) Ltd, Dr. Zamuee is a vital force in international consultancy for public and private pensions and social security systems. His role encompasses technical support, research team management, government liaison, and stakeholder relationships. His influence extends to major projects, including consulting for the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) and the Namibian Revenue Authority (NamRa). Dr. Zamuee's impact reaches beyond Namibia, as he has contributed to international consultancy assignments, including work for the ILO.

    Dr. Zamuee's influential research and publications have been instrumental in shaping pension fund reforms in Namibia. He is an active member of industry professional bodies and has served on the boards of directors for several respected organizations. Dr. Manfred Rii Zamuee's extensive expertise and leadership continue to leave a lasting mark on the field of pensions and social security, earning him recognition in the global financial community.

  • Anabela Mabota brings 15 years of leadership experience in results management, knowledge management, and project management, with over 10 years in senior management roles. Notably, she served as the Knowledge, Monitoring & Learning Manager for The Financial Sector Deepening Moçambique (FSDMoç), where she developed a knowledge management framework, implemented development impact measurement systems, and conducted action research to inform strategic decisions in the Mozambique financial sector. Anabela has made significant contributions to economic development, particularly in agricultural market information systems in Mozambique.

    Holding a Master's in Agriculture Economics from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique, she is also a certified FSDAfrica Academy graduate. Anabela's commitment to empowerment is evident in her role as the General Assembly Chairman of the Board during the transition of FSDMoc to a national vehicle, and her passion lies in empowering women, girls, and socially excluded individuals to contribute to a better world.

BFS Advisory is governed by a Board of Directors. The purpose of the Board of BFS is not only to represent the interests of shareholders but to aggressively promote inclusivity of all stakeholders. The Board consist of 3 members as indicated below.

  • Kauna Ndilula, is a seasoned SME Ecosystem Development Specialist, a strategy development expert and the Executive Chairperson of BFS Group of Companies, founded over seventeen years ago. In her capacity as Business Financial Solutions (BFS) and BFS Fund Manager Executive Chair & Trustee, Kauna has been involved in the conceptualisation and development of the Namibia Procurement Fund (NamPro Fund), a trade finance model which has invested over NAD 1.9 billion (USD c100 million) in over 300 Namibian SMEs, creating over 6000 jobs. Presently, Kauna is extending the successful NamPro Fund business model into Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). As an SME Ecosystem Specialist, her efforts are channeled towards the deepening of the financial sector and empowerment of enterprises across African.

  • Anna Kangombe is a highly accomplished CEO and business development executive with a wealth of experience in driving strategic initiatives and fostering innovation. With a Ph.D. in Public and Development Management and a strong educational background in international business, Anna has led projects aimed at financing sustainable initiatives in areas such as energy efficiency and agriculture. Her role as CEO of Business Financial Solutions (BFS) has seen her actively support operational and strategic functions, ensuring the organization remains client-centric and responsive to market needs.

    Throughout her career, Anna has showcased her leadership abilities in various roles, including lecturing at the University of Namibia, Namibia University of Science and Technology and serving as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at UNICEF Namibia. With proficiency in multiple languages and a commitment to excellence, Anna's expertise span academia, consultancy, and development work, making her a valuable asset in driving sustainable growth and positive change.

    Throughout her career, Kangombe has showcased her leadership abilities in various roles, including lecturing at Namibia University of Science and Technology and serving as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at UNICEF Namibia.
